Suvi Express is the only hydrofoil vessel operating on Finland’s inland waterways—a high-speed craft that runs regular scheduled routes as well as cruises.
Onboard, passengers have access to a café service and restroom facilities. The progress of the journey can be followed on a TV screen, showing a live camera view forward along with a real-time map. When the vessel slows down or passes through locks, passengers may step out onto the rooftop deck to enjoy the scenery.
The vessel was built in 1989 and previously served the port of Tartu in Estonia. It arrived in Finland in summer 2009 and was granted the Finnish flag on June 9, 2011. The vessel was refurbished in 2010, during which its engine was replaced with a European MTU engine.
